What does STUBBORN really mean anyway?
In the human context, stubborn is taken to mean sticking to an opinion or course of action in spite of reason or argument.
Humans apply the word stubborn to horses when the horse isn't doing what we want and we lack the knowledge to explain why. It's a word of convenience, but labelling a horse as stubborn isn't going to help us at all, is it?
Although a horse, like any other sentient animal, is capable of making a decision not to do something, the reason is never to annoy or anger you. It is due to very rooted instincts of self preservation and perception of leadership.
Can we move past this in a positive way? Of course. We always do, right? Let's dig into this and help our horses move out with confidence and followership!
