In Part 1, we looked very specifically at what the aids - our legs, reins and seat - do.
In Part 2 we'll look at taking that knowledge into different gaits: how to set up a horse in balance and then transition up and down.
Many times we're taught 'click to trot' and 'kiss to lope' - but that doesn't really give us a hint of understanding of what is really going on with the horse's body. Many times gait transitions are taught that cause the horse to be out of balance. You'll see that when a horse bucks going in to a lope or 'pops' up when they transition. It's not fun for the horse nor for you.
Let's change that up and create smooth and balanced gaits and transitions!
