The Progressive Horsemanship clinic is a refreshing twist on the standard clinic format. It's like a clinic and lessons mixed together. On each day, you'll have a 1.5 hour slot where Scott will work with you and your horse individually. There are 5 slots in each day with a break for lunch. We'd encourage you to stay for the whole day, since you'll learn a lot from watching the other students.
What do we do? Well, that's sort of up to you! We have the arena, obstacle course and round pen at our disposal. We'll start by figuring out where you and your horse are at and what you'd like to work on. From there we progress.
Who is this for? Practically everyone. If you're starting a new horse, competing in events, new to horses, looking to strengthen the connection with your horse, work through issues or simply improve your horsemanship, this is for you. The Progressive Horsemanship series of clinics are very individual and custom tailored to you and your horse as a team.
How is it progressive? Each clinic is 2 days long. You can opt to sign up for several events over the season. I'd recommend that you register for at least 2 events in order to get the most out of it. We chat about your goals, ensure you're moving toward them and keep track of your progress. We also make sure you're leaving with some homework (no groaning!) - things to practice before the next session. Scott is also available via email to answer any questions you might have between sessions.
That's great. We have more answers! If you have any questions regarding anything about the training, location, facilities or the instructors, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'll get back to you within 24 hours or less.
That's easy. You can post a link to this page on your Facebook page or email it to people you think might be interested.

Available time slots are: 9:00-10:30, 10:30-12:00, 1:00-2:30, 2:30-4:00, 4:00-5:30. You can book more than one slot per day, as long as there is at least one slot between.
You can bring up to 2 horses. Each horse will have his own time slot and there must be at least one slot in between.
Not at all. We welcome everyone from experienced riders with experienced horses, to people with colts, to people that have never worked with a horse before. The only prerequisite is that you're open to learning something new and having a good time doing it.
We encourage families to attend.
Both and neither! All disciplines and breeds are welcome.
No. The goal is to learn and to take away a few tools to put in your horsemanship toolbox. Your standard is one that you set yourself. You might find that you'll be exploring areas of learning with your horse that you may not have realized existed.
Nope. Put gas in truck, put horse in trailer, and head on up.
Not a problem! Opportunities are available to partner up with one of the ranch horses. If you've never worked with a horse before this is a perfect place to get started. Training and one-on-one lessons are also available outside these clinics with the individual instructors.
The Amazing Horse Country Ranch is located 38km west of Innisfail, Alberta on Highway 54.
We'll send maps and driving directions out in your registration packages. A variety of amenities are available in the town of Spruce View.
